NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) — In New Bern Wednesday, Governor Roy Cooper’s clean transportation plan is officially in motion.

The governor announced the first round of awards for developers to install electric vehicle charging stations across the state.

One is at Publix on Glenburnie Road in New Bern as the city was one of nine picked in the state. The new station is part of North Carolina’s effort to expand its vehicle infrastructure using funds from the national program.
