    Driver pulled from maintenance hole after crashing vehicle into it

    BELHAVEN, N.C. (WNCT) — Multiple law enforcement and fire departments responded to a crash on Sidney Road in Belhaven Wednesday around 11:56 a.m. in Beaufort County.

    A driver crashed a vehicle into a maintenance hole where the North Carolina Department of Transportation was working.

    The vehicle took a nose dive into a six-to-eight-foot embankment. One person was removed from the vehicle and hole by crews responding to the scene. The patient reportedly suffered moderate injuries.

    A tow truck pulled the vehicle out and construction continued.
