Kat’s Community Cafe serves soul food to Downtown Greenville

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — Kat’s Community Cafe opened in April this year. They’ve been serving soul food since.

The restaurant was opened by Towana Dunning and her father. The restaurant’s name pays homage to Dunning’s mother, Kat, who passed away in 2015. Photos of her are posted at the register.

Fried chicken, hamburger and gravy, pork chops, collards and more are all on the menu.

There is one thing that Dunning wants people to know when they enter Kat’s Community Cafe.

“Know that the love of God is here. god is in the food, the people here, and it’s just love and family,” she said.
