GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — Officials at Pitt County Animal Services are working to give their furry friends a forever home.

The shelter is participating in the national Clear the Shelter week initiative throughout the week. All dog and cat adoption fees are half-off.

The event is going on for two more days from 1-4 p.m. and appointments are not required “All of this is to help animals find their forever homes,” Supervisor Grace Brubaker said. “We have been incredibly successful. We’ve had over 30 adoptions and we still have today, tomorrow and Saturday. And then we’re going to have another, we’re calling it a Cat-urday, where dogs and cats are both half-off on October 5th.”

Regular adoption fees for cats are normally $95, reduced this week to $47. The normal $135 fee for dogs is reduced to $67.
