Pedestrian dies in Carteret County collision

CARTERET COUNTY (WNCT) — At 1:32 a.m., NC Highway Patrol responded to a collision involving a commercial bus and a pedestrian.

The 2003 MCI commercial bus was traveling west on NC 24 when it struck a pedestrian in the road. It was reported that the pedestrian wasn’t wearing any reflective clothing and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The name of the victim won’t be released until troopers have identified next of kin.
