Man arrested after gun found during home check by probation officer

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) — A man was arrested in Kinston Friday after a check on him by law enforcement officers .

Michael Stevens, 22, was taken into custody after his probation officer checked his home and law enforcement found a gun and ammunition. Stevens was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and narcotics charges.

Stevens was jailed in the Lenoir County Jail without bond.
