GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — The East Carolina University football team fell to Appalachian State 21-19 in a heartbreaking loss on Saturday at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium in front of a crowd of over 45,000 fans.

Episode 3 of ‘Inside Pirate Athletics’

The Pirates had a 16-0 lead after a huge pick-six by Shavon Revel in the first quarter. By halftime, the Mountaineers had caught up to ECU and were down by two. They held the Pirates off for the rest of the game and ECU quarterback Ryan Garcia threw a costly interception in the fourth quarter, putting the nail in the coffin.
