GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — Joy Soup Kitchen is having to scale back the number of dinners they serve per week starting Oct. 1st.

For the time being, they will only have dinners on Tuesdays and Thursdays but will still serve lunch each day. This is because of an increase in food prices and increases of people they are serving.

They said they average about 150 meals per night, meaning that there will potentially be 300 meals per week that people won’t receive.

“This place right now, it’s important because this place is sometimes the only times people can get into a building out of the elements a day,” Executive Director of Joy Soup Kitchen Tom Quigley said. “Okay, this place, we’re not just given basic stuff here, we actually serve nutritional meals.”

Quigley said that you can help donate by contributing to their Amazon wishlist or donate directly on their website .
