Mission BBQ honors local fallen soldier on Gold Star Wall

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) —  This weekend, Mission BBQ had a fallen solider ceremony to honor a local hometown hero that served our country.

Corporal Ryan Russell was a combat medic in the U.S. Army, and his services and sacrifices were honored by putting his picture up on Mission BBQ’s Gold Star Wall.

“This is a way in which just average residents that are coming in and out, they’ll be able to see and just reflect upon Ryan’s service as a combat medic,” Congressman Don Davis said. “He actually took care of people helping save lives, and he did it until his own life was given for our country.”
