Kinston man arrested for possessing a gun as a felon

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) — Law enforcement officers with the Kinston Police Department arrested a man on September 28, for possessing a firearm as a felon.

At around 4 am officers conducted a traffic stop due to witnessing multiple traffic violations. Officers found a gun and narcotics within the car. The driver, 39-year-old Dorian Powell, was arrested and charged with possession of firearm by felon and simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance.
