    Two North Lenoir Fire and Rescue members head to Transylvania County for rescue and recovery after Hurricane Helene

    KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) — More people from the east are heading out to the western part of North Carolina that was so deeply affected by Hurricane Helene.

    North Lenoir’s Fire and Rescue Assistant Chief Brandon Ward and Firefighter McKinnon Wade left on Monday morning to head out to Transylvania County, an over six-hour drive from the east to assist those who need it.

    On the North Lenoir Fire and Rescue Facebook , they say these two are going there to “assist their brothers and sisters with response and recovery in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.”
