GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — The East Carolina University football team hosted the University of Texas San Antonio at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium for the first conference game of the season.

The Roadrunners had a solid lead through halftime before the Pirates scored 14 in the third quarter and tacked on another six in the fourth quarter totaling a 30-20 victory. ECU quarterback Jake Garcia threw for 294 yards and two touchdowns but threw two interceptions, continuing his streak of games with an interception.

Rahjai Harris had 25 carries for 60 yards and Chase Sowell had four receptions for 67 yards. The team lost defensive back Shavon Revel to a torn ACL at practice on September 20, so the defense has had to fill some gaps without him.
