KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) — The City of Kinston is doing its part in collecting donations for Western North Carolina.

They were set up outside Grainger Stadium until 7 p.m. Thursday night. They’re filling up their truck to send out to the communities affected. They said right now, they’re prioritizing food and water donations as water systems are down and residents out West are struggling to meet basic needs.

“There has been many, many times that the West has helped us out and those all across the country that came to help us out,” Mayor of Kinston Don Hardy said. “So, it was our turn to now pay it forward now that we are able to do so. And that’s what it’s all about, is that teamwork that makes the dream work for all our folks across our state.”

Mayor Hardy said you can reach out to the Kinston City Hall and coordinate a time to drop your donations off there.
