PINETOPS, N.C. (WNCT) — The 38th annual Edgecombe Community College Foundation Golf tournament was held at Maccripine Country Club.

”This is a chance for the community to come together to support the wonderful work that our employees do but also support our students with scholarships,” said Greg McLeod, ECC President.

This year, there were 160 players in the tournament. The players had a chance to win prizes for a hole in one and closest to the pin, ranging from a brand new car, a grill and gift cards.

Tameka Norman, executive director, said this is the biggest fundraiser of the year for ECC and the foundation has raised over $40,000 prior to the start of the tournament.

”The purpose is to provide scholarships to students here and to support the operations of the foundation,” said Norman.
