GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — A new country music star kicks off his new tour in Greenville at the State Theater Thursday night.

Drake White will be performing songs from his album “Low Country High Road.” White got his start singing in church youth choirs in his home state of Alabama.

He broke onto the country music scene in 2013, opening up for top country stars like Luke Bryan and the Zac Brown Band. Now, he’s headlining his own tour and is excited to play his new album in front of the Greenville crowd.

“I love a low country boil. I love the food here in this world, in this part of the world, and just what it’s all about, you know? I come from kind of a natural state of mind in the outdoors,” White said. “So, it produces this music and this kind of drinkability that I think, it just makes for a really great atmosphere for it.”

He will also be selling his band merchandise at the door, including a few signed items up for grabs. The concert kicks off with a performance from Aaron Hamm and the Big River Band at 8 p.m.
