    Law enforcement responds to fatal shooting at a gas station in Greenville

    UPDATE: Pitt County Sheriff’s Office says the victim is Taeshawn Gunter, 20, of Pinetops. He died at ECU Health. Law enforcement has interviewed the suspected shooter and all available witnesses.

    This is still believed to be an isolated event.

    GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — Deputies with the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported shooting in the parking lot of a Speedway convenience store at the corner of NC Highway 43 and MacGregor Downs Road Thursday at around 3:40 p.m.

    Law enforcement said one victim was treated and taken to ECU Health and there is no condition update available at this time.

    Law enforcement said it was an isolated event and there is no believed threat to the public.
