GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — Joy Soup Kitchen is bringing back serving dinners four nights per week.

Just a week ago, leaders at the kitchen announced they had to cut down to two nights per week because of rising food prices and an increase in people they serve.

After taking to social media, they received an overwhelming amount of donations. “Monday night, we will reopen again for four nights a week dinner,” Joy Soup Kitchen Executive Director Tom Quigley said. “And it’s a great feeling and it’s even better because I didn’t do this. The Greenville community did this, and it’s just special.”

The kitchen is always looking for donations and Quigley said the best way to help is to donate large numbers of food cans and more volunteers are always welcome also.
