GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — The City of Greenville is kicking off October’s first Friday Artwalk by celebrating 250 years of history all around the city.

“Throughout the year, we’ve been celebrating our anniversary but we certainly needed a birthday party and that’s what we’re having tonight,” City of Greenville Public Information Officer Brock Letchworth said. “Five Points Plaza. Tonight, we’re having a band, vendors, food trucks, beer garden, Sup Crushes will be there. We got a kids’ zone with touch a truck and earlier this year, one of the things we did was a student art competition related to our 250th anniversary.”

Those pieces of art were on display from the contest which asked the artists what they love most about Greenville along with historic artifacts from the past.

    The event ran from 5 p.m. through 8 p.m.
