IMAX theater opens in Greenville

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — Golden Ticket is a fan favorite to catch the newest movies premiering in theaters, now they’re opening a brand new Imax theater.

Earlier Friday, the team from Golden Ticket, as well as, the Greenville Chamber of Commerce celebrated the unveiling of the new theater with a ribbon cutting.

The IMAX experience will kick off with a showing of the new “Joker” movie Friday night. “There’s about 30 speakers in there and I might be cutting that a little short,” Marketing Director for Golden Ticket Cinemas Joseph Horton said. “So, and it’s not meant to be loud. It’s meant to be precise. So, wherever you’re sitting in the theater, you have that same kind of experience.”

This is the first IMAX theater in the region equipped with laser 4K projection and surround sound.
