Raleigh man arrested on stolen vehicle, drug charges after traffic stop in Lenoir County

LA GRANGE, N.C. (WNCT) — A Raleigh man was arrested in La Grange on multiple charges after a traffic stop Monday.

Law enforcement said Jayson Nathanial Dupree Winner, 23, was driving a motorcycle without a license plate. They found Winner was on probation for possession of a stolen motor vehicle and possession of controlled substances.

Law enforcement found the motorcycle had ben stolen from an owner in Leland. Deputies found Winner had roughly 61 grams of methamphetamine along with other substances classified under Schedule I, II, IV and VI.

Winner was charged with:

• Felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle
• Felony trafficking in methamphetamine by possession
• Felony trafficking in methamphetamine by transport
• Felony maintaining a vehicle for a Schedule I controlled substance
• Felony maintaining a vehicle for a Schedule II controlled substance
• Felony maintaining a vehicle for a Schedule VI controlled substance
• Felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule I controlled substance
• Felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance
• Felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance
• Misdemeanor simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance
• Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia
• Misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia
• Driving without a license
• Driving with no insurance
• Failure to register a vehicle with the DMV

Winner was jailed in the Lenoir County Jail under a $350,000 secured bond awaiting further legal proceedings.
