SWANSBORO, N.C. (WNCT) — NC 24 will be closed in Swansboro Saturday for the Mullet Parade starting at eight.

The parade will start at nine. The town has been spending all day on Friday gearing up for the mullet festival that happens right after. There is going to be activities for everyone like games and crafts for kids, live music and nearly 175 vendors. Anna Stanley is the town’s Parks and Recreation Director and she is most excited for the live music and new and old vendors.

“I would definitely just say the music and honestly just seeing people enjoy and have a good time. This is a community event and that’s what it’s focused on. So we just want everybody to have a fun and safe time.” said Stanley.

Friday night they are going to kick off the weekend with a blessing of the fleets. It’s to remember all the fisherman that have lost their lives at sea. That will start at 6 pm and can be seen from the Church Street Dock.
