GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — ECU’s football team is coming off a bye week after suffering a road loss to Charlotte.

The team is 3-3 and will head North to New York to take on the undefeated Army Black Knights. Army is 6-0 and ranked No. 23 in the country.

Army is also one of two teams that have not trailed in a game this season. ECU Head Coach Mike Houston knows his offense and defense will both need to be sharp Saturday.

“They’re not as much their option as what, say, Navy used to be or what we were back in the day. You know, they do run some midline triple,” he said. “That’s really the only true triple option we’ve seen out of them. A lot of their stuff is either, you know, quarterback, follow quarterback, counter quarterback, zone, they run some arc option or the pitcher to the fullback, you know, the run toss, you know, they do a lot of other stuff. But, the big thing revolves around the quarterback and the fullback.”
