SANFORD, N.C. (WNCT) — A local drink company that was started at ECU’s Miller School of Entrepreneurship is recovering after a fire this past weekend that burned its headquarters down.

The Booze Juice headquarters in Sanford was deemed a total loss. The business has been going strong for a little more than two years, serving their sealable alcohol pouches at more than 400 stores across the state.

The business was just about to expand into more markets before the loss that totaled more than $100,000.

“Shock. I mean, it really sucks to see something that we’ve worked so hard to get to where we’re at, just go away in an instant like that,” Haynes Mahoney of Booze Juice said. “A fire is not something that we expected at all. So, I think everybody’s just in shock right now. But, you know, we’re confident that we’re going to rebuild from this and we’ll be back stronger than we were before.”

To help support the Booze-Juice entrepreneurs and learn more about their start here in Eastern North Carolina, you can find a GoFundMe link right here .
