    Man arrested on breaking and entering, larceny charges in Beaufort County

    CHOCOWINITY, N.C. (WNCT) — Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a suspect in connection to a reported breaking and entering and larceny from a home.

    It happened in Chocowinity Monday when a citizen reported guns were stolen. Later on in the day, law enforcement officers were alerted to an alarm activation at Handy Mart in Washington.

    They found multiple things, including a cash register were stolen. The suspect had left the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival. Dustin William Campbell, 27, was identified as a suspect in both cases. Campbell was arrested without incident.

    Campbell was charged with:

    • Two counts felony breaking and entering
    • Three counts larceny after breaking and entering
    • Safecracking
    • Two counts injury to personal property
    • Two counts felony larceny of a firearm

    Campbell was jailed in the Beaufort County Detention Center without bond.
