GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — ECU is showing students the opportunities available in the pharmaceutical industry with its PharmFest.

Each company that attended got to engage with and recruit students from all majors to discuss pathways into the industry.

North Carolina is the third-leading state in the country for biotechnology with more than 800 life sciences and pharmaceutical companies.

“This one event is mainly to have our students at ECU and also the community colleges in and around the region here learn more about pharma and understand that awareness of pharma, regardless of what the degree is,” Director of Eastern Region Pharma Center Dr. Loren Limberis said. “Because there’s a lot of opportunities right here in Eastern North Carolina and that’s what we want to make sure that students understand the opportunities.”
