Morehead City woman charged after traffic stop finds multiple illegal drugs

MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. (WNCT) — A Morehead City woman was arrested on multiple illegal drug charges on Sept. 30 during a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 70 West of New Bern.

K9 Officer Tia alerted law enforcement to drugs in the vehicle. A search found fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, Xanax, and marijuana in the vehicle.

Deupties also seized items used in the sale and distribution of illegal drugs. Laurin Elizabeth McGee, 47, of Morehead City was charged with:

Two counts of possession to manufacture, sell and deliver controlled substances
Felony maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances
Possession of drug paraphernalia

McGee was jailed under a $275,000 bond.
