Washington Commanders select former LSU football star Jayden Daniels as No. 2 overall pick in 2024 NFL Draft

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Former LSU football star Jayden Daniels was drafted to the Washington Commanders as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

In his final season with the Tigers in 2023, Daniels compiled 3,812 passing yards, 40 passing touchdowns and only four interceptions. The San Bernardino, California native had a QBR of 95.6, according to ESPN.

On the ground, Daniels had 1,134 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns in 2023 for the Tigers, according to ESPN.

Daniels became the third LSU football player to win the Heisman Trophy for his performance during the 2023 campaign.

Daniels also took home the Davey O’Brien Award, Manning Award and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm, according to LSU Athletics. He also earned AP Player of the Year, Sporting News Player of the Year and many other accolades.
