BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — LSU head coach Brian Kelly wants his team to keep working on the progress they’ve made behind the scenes to build a championship mindset that produces better results on the field.

At the top of the list for this 2024 LSU football team, according to their head coach, is penalties.

The LSU Tigers had 10 penalties for 99 yards in Sunday’s loss against Southern Cal in Las Vegas, a far cry from Kelly’s mantras of being a disciplined football team.

Fortunately, Kelly believes this team is doing the right things in practice and the locker room. It just needs to show up on the field now.

“We’re still working on that every single day,” Kelly told reporters on Tuesday. “It happens when you put in the work, and it means so much to you that, under no circumstances, can you let someone take it away from you.”

The Tigers had five different 15-yard penalties called on them during the game against USC.
