BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — LSU football defense showed signs of growth in a 29-26 overtime win vs Ole Miss, and it’s a product of first-year Defensive Coordinator Blake Baker.

In a matchup against one of the best play callers in college football, Lane Kiffin, Baker showed signs of organization, deception, and diversification in his defense.

LSU, accordingly, held a dynamic Ole Miss offense to just 188 yards and didn’t allow a touchdown, in the second half on Saturday night.

Last season, under a different regime, the Tigers gave up over 700 total yards & 55 points in a loss.

The Tigers’ next game is on the road against the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m.
