“Fire Up DWNTWN” Back and Better for Third Year
MUNCIE, IN—Muncie Downtown Development Partnership (MDDP), an organization connecting our community and creating a vibrant downtown, announced today initial plans for its third “Fire Up DWNTWN,” a street festival that has drawn over 10,000 people to the heart of the city in each of its last two celebrations. The event, sponsored by Ivy Tech Muncie, will be held from 1pm to 10pm, Saturday September 21st.
Sewer line break repairs cost Lawrence $125K
A sewer line break of off Pendleton Pike will cost the City of Lawrence about $125,000. The Utility Service Board voted unanimously July 23 to ratify a contract with Culy Contracting, which fixed the sewer line earlier in the month. The board agreed July 9 to declare a public emergency and allow the city to move quickly to hire Culy for the repair work, before the contract was formally approved.
