NASCAR penalty report released for races at Indianapolis in 2024
NASCAR has finished its only date at Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the 2024 season, as Kyle Larson won the Brickyard 400 for his third Crown Jewel victory. Larson was all good with inspections; however, three penalties are coming from the weekend in Indianapolis. All three of the penalties are relatively the same in the NASCAR Xfinity and Truck Series. Austin Hill’s crew chief Andy Street was fined $5,000 after one lug nut was found not safe and secure on the No. 21 Richard Childress Racing car after the Xfinity Series event. Street’s fine was the biggest of the weekend in Indianapolis, as the Truck Series had two smaller penalties for lug nuts. The penalties come from McAnally-Hilgemann Racing and Young’s Motorsports. Daniel Dye’s crew chief, Blake Bainbridge, and Thad Moffitt’s crew chief, Tyler Young, were fined $2,500 for one unsecured lug nut after the Truck Series event. None of these penalties are massive after several weeks of NASCAR debating big violations. Now, everyone can focus on the Olympic break as NASCAR returns in over two weeks.
