See Dolly Parton’s New Beauty Line and the Lipstick Shades Named After Her Most Famous Songs

While there have been many celebrity beauty lines created over the years, Dolly Parton announcing her Dolly Beauty line earlier this month was the one that has excited us the most. That’s because anything Dolly puts her name on, we want it. The iconic country star, author, philanthropist and more (the list truly goes on and on!)  is known for her signature ‘dolled up’ makeup look, which we are sure to see emulated in the products that she releases. Dolly Parton shares the inspiration behind her makeup line

While you might think this is Parton’s first foray in beauty, she has a perfume line that launched in 2021. Woman’s World spoke to Dolly about her perfume back when it was released and she told us, “I’ve always worn two or three different perfumes at once and people always ask about it. This perfume [ Scent from Above ] is as close as we could get to that. We call it Dolly’s Scent from Above because it smells heavenly!” Since the initial fragrance, a collection of four more perfumes came out in 2022, Smoky Mountain , Dancing Fireflies , Tennessee Sunset and Early Morning Breeze .

So makeup feels like a natural follow up to Dolly’s successful perfumes and the star even said so herself to Women’s Wear Daily (WWD): “I always loved makeup, and when we did the fragrance, makeup seemed like the next step.” She also told the publication, “I’ve wanted to be pretty my whole life like most girls, especially country girls that have a dream of glamour. I started creating my own little makeup things at home when I was just a kid, and I’ve been known for wearing makeup — usually too much — for years.” She even went on to say, “Lord knows, nobody wears more makeup than me.”

Dolly also had a very heavy hand in the creation of her beauty line, which is an extension of her partnership with Scent Beauty that she did her fragrances with. She told WWD , “I have to be involved in everything, and I sample and try things and say, ‘Oh, that’s not great, let’s go back and do this or that. What’s next for the Dolly Parton makeup line?

Lipstick is only the beginning of Dolly Beauty. The line will also include more products for lips, the complexion and eyes rolling out later this year and next. “Through the years, we’ll be doing different products with makeup, and eventually, we may do hair care or this or that,” Dolly said to WWD . “Anything that has to do with beauty — new dreams come every day.”
