Celebrate Senior Dogs With Zappos: Win a Gift Card, Pet Supplies & More for International Dog Day

Have you adopted an older dog? Adopting any animal is one of the most rewarding things you can do, but now Zappos is making it even sweeter! If you've adopted a senior pup, Zappos wants to reward you for it.

Zappos loves its furry friends (they launched a collaboration with Rover earlier this year and created a Dog-Walking Shoe Shop ). Now, they’re launching a campaign on International Dog Day! This Aug. 26, 2024, Zappos wants to encourage customers to adopt their sole mate for Senior Paws Day .

To celebrate the holiday and the brand’s 25th anniversary, Zappos is offering 25 Senior Paws Packs featuring a Zappos gift card, a free Rover walk, dog treats from Brutus Bone Broth, and additional pet supplies to paw-rents who have adopted a dog three years or older. “In honor of our 25th birthday, we’re excited to make this year’s International Dog Day even more fun for 25 paw-rents!" Joe Cano, Chief Marketing and Merchandising Officer, tells Woman's World.

"At Zappos, our furry friends are incredibly important to us, so we’re looking to extend that love to others’ pets, as well. Knowing how difficult it can be for older dogs in particular, to get adopted, we want to celebrate those who have found their best friend in an older dog with a ‘Senior Paws Pack’, a kit filled with goodies for both pet parents, and their dogs, to enjoy. We’re looking forward to hearing all the great adoption stories!”

How to Win a Senior Paws Pack from Zappos

Need a great pair of Hokas or a fresh set of New Balances ? All you have to do is share your story!

Twenty-five (25) lucky customers will be rewarded with a Senior Paws Pack if they submit a story about how they’ve adopted a dog three years or older to seniorpawsday@zappos.com . This initiative was inspired by Zappos’ current employee adoption reimbursement program, so the brand wanted to extend the message of encouragement to its customers.

According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals (ASPCA), the adoption rate for older dogs is only 25%, whereas the rate for younger dogs is 60%.
