Chevy Chase and Christie Brinkley Reunite More Than 40 Years After ‘National Lampoon’s Vacation’: See Viral Photos

Oh, no, wait, that’s the Griswald family in the 1983 hit movie National Lampoon's Vacation — also known as Vacation . And now, over 40 years after the film's initial release, two of the film's stars have reunited. All about the ‘National Lampoon’ reunion

National Lampoon's Vacation stars Chase — who played Clark Griswold — and Brinkley — who played The Girl in the Ferrari — recently reunited and documented the whole meet up on Instagram.

“Vacation is always over too soon!” the post from both Chase and Brinkley read. After Chase reunited with his femme fatale, they then documented a series of selfies and videos together, which the internet loved.

One comment read, “Are you kidding me!! Sooo cute!!!” with another comment echoing similar thoughts by writing, “How cute are you two!! Still one of the best movies ever!”

In the 1983 film, Brinkley played a young girl who drives past the Griswald family on the highway in a sports car. Chase’s character, Clark, then flirts with Brinkley’s character, leading the two to skinny dip in a hotel pool later in the film.

This isn’t the first time the pair have reunited though.

In 2023, the two teamed up to make a TikTok video in which they recreated some of the scenes from the film. They also worked with Chase and his wife Ellen, Beverly D'Angelo – his on-screen wife, that is – in a few of the clips.

What is Chevy Chase up to now?

When he’s not reuniting with his skinny-dipping partner, Chase can be found posting about his wife and his outings on his Instagram. He also consistently posts old movie posters of his with captions like, “ 35 years ago today …”

One thing Chase doesn’t talk a lot about, though, is his health.

In 2021, the actor revealed, " I was in the hospital for five weeks . A heart issue. So, for now, I'm around the house."

The Vacation series star also used that as an opportunity to comment on what he thinks of the entertainment industry now, saying, "I read. Turn on the TV. Watch the news. All dreck. I see actors, comedians, producers, and screenwriters working, and God bless them, but I don't see anything great on television. The humor today is giving the next generation worse stuff than they already have in their own lives. I t drives me nuts .”

As of August 2024, Chase is 80 years old and married to his wife, Janyi. They have been together since 1982 and have three children together.

What is Christie Brinkley doing now?

Brinkley, now aged 70, is still the working star that she was back in the 1980s.

Recently, she appeared on the cover of First For Women , saying, “ Almost everything makes me smile . I really do find so much joy in almost everything. I think my smile comes first and foremost from just feeling the sense of gratitude I have. I am so grateful in so many layers.”

In the same interview, the model also opened up about her skin cancer journey, revealing that “ The basal cell carcinoma that I had was from my days of wild abandon when I was younger and felt invincible in the sun. When I was even younger, my mom would say, “Go bake that cold out of you.”

“Now, I’ll be doing a twice-yearly Fraxel , which is laser skin resurfacing, and take extra care with being in the sun, but I still love riding my bike and getting outside.”
