Humans aren’t the only ones who experience wanderlust—many pets embark on solo adventures too! From the dog who rode a bus to get to the dog park to cats who visit stores, you never know where a daring pet might end up. Sometimes the results can be both hilarious and heartwarming, like the case of Bean, an adventurous cat who unexpectedly joined school picture day. Read on to discover how Bean became the star of this viral TikTok moment.
For many of us, our pets grow to become almost like our children. You nurture them, feed them, keep them safe and give them a loving home — but losing them hits you like a freight train. For South Carolina woman Jennifer Ravenel, she only had a short two years with her cat Sam before […]
How Bean the cat became part of school picture day
While the majority of felines prefer to spend their days napping, that’s not the case for Bean. The long-haired cat has quite the adventurous streak and uses his waking hours to do a significant amount of exploring around his England town.
Owner Maisie Bray (@maisiebray) recently took to TikTok to showcase the situations Bean has gotten himself into. In a video (captioned “Bean’s adventures”) with over 2 million views, she wrote that she would be “Rating the places I’ve had to pick my cat up from.”
The slideshow showcases 12 spots Bean has explored, including a local pub, a bus stop, and a corner shop, each with its own rating. Bray’s favorite moment, however, was when Bean decided to visit the local primary school during picture day.
Though Bean has been a repeat visitor at schools in the past, one stopover produced hilarious results. Much to the delight of Bray, the cat got into the building on school picture day.
What made the day even more memorable was that Bean received his own school picture! "One of the ladies at the school sent me the photo after telling me it was picture day,” Bray told Newsweek . “It was so funny.”
Since the school employees were so used to Bean’s presence, they couldn’t resist capturing the moment. One staffer held him up for the photo, and the results couldn’t be more entertaining.
Bray happily rated it “10/10 for cuteness,” and we agree!
Bean isn’t the only UK cat to make headlines for his participation in school picture day. In 2022, People reported that an orange and white kitty named Ziggy got his own portrait taken. Unlike Bean, however, Ziggy hopped up on a chair all on his own to pose for the photographer.
There's something so nostalgic about revisiting our favorite movies and shows from decades ago, but what about looking back at the celebrities themselves? These sweet, innocent kids grew up to be some of the hottest names in Hollywood, offering viewers incredible performances, amazing music and unforgettable roles. Can you guess who?
More about the cat Bean’s adventures
Not all of Bean’s escapades are as well received by his owner, however. Newsweek reports that Bray’s phone number is listed on Bean’s collar, which means once she receives a call about his whereabouts, she’s always on her way to retrieve him.
While most of Bean’s adventures are nearby, one incident left Bray both stressed and annoyed. Bean somehow made his way to Exeter—52 miles away from home.
Bray rated it -1000/10, citing it as “massively inconvenient and cost me money to get him back.”
In a follow up video, she explained the details of the aforementioned incident. While at a supermarket, she received a call from someone who had found the mischievous feline. Apparently, Bean had jumped into the van of an out-of-town visitor who happened to be on her road that day.
“Your cat woke up that day and said I'm going out of town for the day, my people will be calling you to come bring me home,” one TikTok user commented.
Hopefully Bean has since learned to keep his excursions close to home!
