    How This Woman Reversed Pre-Diabetes, Lowered Cholesterol and Fought Fatigue Without Medication

    The morning was slipping away as Rose Weinstein sat on her couch, trying to gather the energy to start her day. The Indianapolis grandmother had hours of errands ahead of her, but despite the ticking clock, she couldn’t muster the strength to get moving. “What is happening to me?” she wondered.

    Having entered her sixties, she first figured this fatigue was normal, a sign that she needed to slow down or even give up doing some of the things she loved. But when her annual blood work in 2016 showed various health issues, she realized it was more than just getting older. Rose wondered if maybe there was more to her fatigue than she’d originally thought.

    First, her cholesterol rose to the point where her doctor put her on statins, which made Rose uneasy. She didn’t want to rely on medication for the rest of her life and couldn’t help worrying about potential side effects. Additionally, her A1C level—a measure of your average blood glucose level —had climbed to 6.1, putting her in the pre-diabetic range.     Rose was terrified her doctor would recommend medication to control her blood sugar level, something she didn’t want to take. In fact, despite trying a few different statins, her cholesterol remained elevated. Eventually, she stopped taking them altogether.
