Stranded Abroad, This Woman Was Saved by an Angel Just in Time—Read Her Incredible Story

    By Maggie Dillard,

Our tour bus had just arrived in Budapest, and we were anxious to get out and explore.

After settling into our hotel, we set out to join a walking tour, which entailed taking the transit system.

“Be sure to have your transit ticket punched before you get on,” the hotel clerk advised us when we purchased our tickets.

When we entered the transit building, we looked for the ticket puncher. We checked all three levels but didn’t find either a person or a machine, so we boarded the transit car thinking maybe someone would do it on board. Nope.

Upon disembarking, we were immediately approached by a policewoman. “May I see your tickets please?” she asked us. “You didn’t punch them before boarding. The fine for not punching is 5 forints.”

We explained that we had just arrived in Budapest and hadn’t had time to exchange our money. Could we pay in American dollars?

    “Oh no,” she said.

Are we going to be arrested? we wondered as she detained us. All of a sudden, a man approached. He was dressed in a suit, tie and overcoat and carrying a briefcase. He spoke fluent English and Hungarian.

“What seems to be the problem?” he inquired. We explained and he turned to speak to the policewomen. While we watched in nervous anticipation, we saw him give her some money.

Turning back to us he explained he paid our fine for us because we were tourists and he didn’t want us to have a bad impression of the country.

We were so relieved and thanked him profusely. We offered to pay him with our American money, but he refused.

And with that he disappeared just as quickly as he had appeared. We’ll never know for sure, but I truly believe he was our angel.

“Pam’s story is a beautiful example of angelic intervention through a physical person,” says Sunny Dawn Johnson , a global authority on the angelic realm, with a portfolio of 22 books, including popular titles such as Invoking the Archangels , The Love Never Ends , and 365 Days of Angel Prayers . “When faced with trouble in Budapest, a kind stranger appeared, paid their fine and disappeared just as quickly. This is what I would consider divine and timely intervention. These types of encounters remind us that angels can and do often send seemingly ordinary people to us in our times of need. Trust in these moments of kindness, knowing they are sent to you by your guardian angels, who are always watching over you, ready to assist and guide you.”
