Tampa General Installs Innovative Device to Fight Milton’s Flooding

Last month, Tampa General Hospital put up an AquaFence to protect their building from dangerous flooding from Hurricane Helene and the hospital hopes the barrier will continue to hold up for the incoming storm surge from Hurricane Milton.  Tampa General is located on Davis Islands in Tampa, Florida, an area that was almost completely underwater […]

Luke Combs and Eric Church share their thoughts on the ‘Concert for Carolina’

Both Combs and Church have shared their gratitude for their home state and how much they want to help the victims of these devastating storms.

Seeing places that you hung out as a child , or places that you went to your friends’ wedding almost cease to exist in some way, while still being there is really unfathomable for me,” Combs shared.

Church explained that while the hurricane devastation is top of mind for everyone right now, the repairs will take years, not months.

“This is not a months thing; this is a years thing to rebuild the infrastructure and community there,” Church shared. “We’ve got everyone’s attention right now, but in a few months, it is still going to be really important we think about rebuilding what was, what we think of, as western North Carolina.”

Who is involved with the benefit concert?

The owner of the Carolina Panthers football team, David Tepper, offered up the Bank of America Stadium for the concert venue when he heard about the effort from Combs.

“No matter where we are, what we are doing, we always try to lend a helping hand,” Tepper explained. “This one is big. People weren’t expecting it. You don’t expect to have that kind of flooding out there, the problems we have out there. So, everyone needs to pitch in and do their part right now.”

Tepper also previously donated $3 million for the Hurricane Helene relief efforts. In addition to all of the performers taking part in the concert, Combs and Church have partnered up with T-Mobile, Jack Daniels and Miller Lite among others.

In the announcement posted to Combs’ Instagram, the country singer wrote, “This concert took so much planning, work, and coordination from so many people. I’m so thankful to everyone who helped make this a possibility on such short notice.”
