An Angel’s Love Lives On: How a Special Necklace Proved She Was at Her Granddaughter’s Wedding

    By Maggie Dillard,

Just 10 days before my daughter Cheryl’s wedding, my mother had to be admitted to the hospital for a bowel blockage. She had been embarrassed to admit her condition, so it had only worsened.

Before leaving for the hospital, she glanced around her small apartment, seemingly reluctant to leave. We both knew that it was past time for her to go to the hospital. I gently urged her, “Mother, please. We have to go.” She seemed sad, but at peace.

The hospital was close by and too soon, we were there. Things happened quickly. She was triaged and whisked away, and I was shown where to wait. Within a short time, the doctor appeared with news that I did not want to hear. It wasn’t good. Unfortunately, with my mother’s age and medical history, her chances of recovery were 50/50. The family gathered and day turned into night. We headed home to try to sleep.

Not long after we crawled into bed, the phone rang. My mother was gone. She had passed away from a heart attack after the surgery.

These Guardian Angel Encounters Saved My Life—Real Stories of Close Calls and Miracles

During my life, I’ve had many close calls with danger. One time, I was on my way back to school after spending the weekend at home with my family. I was driving a 1962 Volkswagen bug that had no gas gauge, and would only go a maximum of 60 mph downhill. I was on a […]

The next day, I headed to her apartment to pick up her favorite outfit. She was to be cremated, but my mother was always a fashion plate. I knew she’d want to go out in style.

There on the dresser was a beautiful pearl and gold necklace that I recalled seeing a time or two. A hastily scribbled note read: For Cheryl’s wedding day. Love, Mom Mom.

A few days later, we buried my mother, and then a week after that, Cheryl walked down the aisle to marry her wonderful husband, Chris. The night before the wedding, he surprised Cheryl with earrings that he’d bought a month earlier. To everyone’s amazement, the earrings were from the same collection created by the same designer as the necklace Mother had left Cheryl.

Generations of Grace: How an Angel From Her Childhood Comforted Her Throughout Her Life

When I was about 2 years old, my mom couldn’t get me to fall asleep in my crib because I kept saying “Hi” and waving to “someone” who wasn’t there, which I had never done before.  My mother lay down next to my crib to encourage me to sleep and suddenly saw a glowing woman’s […]

I was sure I heard her soft laughter as we made the discovery. We all realized she was at the wedding, after all.

“Maureen’s story is an uplifting reminder of how our loved ones remain close to us,” says Sunny Dawn Johnson , a global authority on the angelic realm, with a portfolio of 22 books, including popular titles such as Invoking the Archangels , The Love Never Ends , and 365 Days of Angel Prayers . “The unexpected coordination of the necklace left by Maureen’s mother and the earrings gifted by Cheryl’s husband are signs that her mother was still present. Such seemingly coincidental things are not coincidental at all, but instead divine messages. Trust in these signs as a testament to the enduring bond that transcends physical presence, reminding us that our guardian angels and loved ones are with us, never missing out on the moments that matter most.”
