The University of Waterloo captured the OUA title, winning the McCaw Cup in dramatic fashion over the Toronto Varsity Blues as Paige Rynne scored the overtime winner to secure a 2-1 win and an Ontario title.

Linemate Carly Orth, who scored the tying goal in the opening period of play, looked like she was going to shoot before finding a streaking Rynne for the championship winning goal.

"I was hanging back," said Rynne in a Waterloo news release . "But then I saw her taking it wide, so I just tried to get around their D... She made a beautiful move. She was incredibly composed and patient. She did all the hard work, and made it easy for me."

"Everything just seemed to move in slow-motion," said Orth. "I just saw the pass make it across, and saw it go in. It was a surreal moment."

Waterloo was led all season by Leah Heffort, who had 27 points in 25 games in the regular season before adding eight points in six playoff games.

Waterloo opens their USports national championship tournament entering as the four seed. They'll face St. FX in the quarterfinals on March 14.
