    Dismissed PWHL Minnesota Coach Hired For NCAA Job

    Former PWHL Minnesota assistant coach Jake Bobrowski has been hired as the new head coach for Northland College, an NCAA DIII program in Ashland, Wisconsin.

    "Northland Women's Hockey is excited for a new era, with new leadership in Jake Bobrowski," said Athletic Director Dan Schumacher in a school press release . "He has coaching experience at all levels of women's hockey and we are excited to have him at Northland College."

    Bobrowski was one of three PWHL Minnesota coaches quietly dismissed by head coach Ken Klee earlier this offseason amidst turmoil in the organization that began with the ousting of general manager and soon-to-be Hockey Hall of Famer Natalie Darwitz.

    According to players and staff from last year's PWHL Minnesota team, Bobrowski was a vocal supporter for players who felt like they where being " bullied by the veterans and the leadership group ." As those sources stated, Bobrowski regularly voiced his opposition to the treatment of some players on PWHL Minnesota's roster were receiving.

    Bobrowski played a role in leading PWHL Minnesota to a Walter Cup title. Prior to the PWHL Bobrowski serves as head coach at Elmira University.

    "I want to thank Director Schumacher for this opportunity," said Bobrowski. "I am excited to showcase the beautiful campus and all the breathtaking shores of Lake Superior have to offer. I also look forward to the opportunity to build NC into a national contender."
