Former Wood County man indicted – again – on sexually oriented allegations
A former Wood County man indicted last year for a dozen sexually oriented offenses has been indicted again on similar charges. Devin A. Beardsley, 40, formerly of Cygnet and currently of Ashtabula, was indicted July 10 for two counts of sexual imposition, both third-degree misdemeanors; two counts on unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, both third-degree felonies; 17 counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person, 15 which were second-degree felonies and two which were fourth-degree felonies; and one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony.
Armed suspect in Wood Co. arrested after spending hours in the woods
WOOD Co., Ohio (WTVG) - The Rossford Police Department confirmed that a suspect is in custody after police had surrounded a wooded area near I-75 for hours. According to officials with the Wood County dispatch, as a result of the search, I-75 North between 196 and 198 was closed. According to OHGO, the road was closed between Wales Road and Buck Road. The dispatcher also said that the intersection of Glenwood and Buck Roads and Glenwood and Mandel Roads were closed.
Armed suspect captured in Wood County after police pursuit, lengthy search identified
WOOD COUNTY, Ohio — Authorities captured an armed suspect just after midnight Friday following a lengthy search in Rossford near I-75 Thursday night. The suspect was later identified as Darryl Elston, 37, of Toledo. He was arraigned in Perrysburg Municipal Court on charges of failure to comply with order or signal of police officer, having weapons while under disability, receiving stolen property, drug abuse and tampering with evidence. He is also facing charges in Lucas County.
