Wood County road to close during pipe installation
PARKERSBURG — Laurel Creek Road in Wood County will be closed from milepost 1.0 to milepost 6.0 from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. today and Wednesday for a pipe installation. The road be open after 5 p.m. Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the schedule.

PARKERSBURG — The Wood County Board of Education held a statutory meeting Monday night where elections were held for president, vice president, and members were appointed to the various boards and committees. * Wood County mibsters (marble players) journeyed once again to the National Marbles Tournament in Wildwood, N.J., and this year, Williamstown Middle High seventh-grader Lucie Clark finished in the events semifinals. Clark, 12, was joined by other Wood County Marbles Club members Sophia Drennen, Ezra Delbaugh and Ryker Bungard. “These kids really represented our county well with incredible sportsmanship and tremendous skill,” Coach Ryan Ice said. “They battled the best marbles players in the nation and Lucie finished as a semifinalist.” Bonus points, they gave us all the opportunity to learn the word “mibsters.” Congratulations on doing so well in your adventure!
