WOOD-RIDGE, NJ – Wood-Ridge Mayor Paul Sarlo administered the oaths of office to three new police officers and two newly promoted Lieutenants at the July 17 meeting of the Wood-Ridge Mayor and Council in a packed Council Chambers.
The Council approved resolutions approving the hiring of Officer Matthew Ronciaoli and the promotions of Matthew J. Muller and Robert J. Jones to Lieutenant.
The first to be administered the oath of office was Roncaioli, followed by officers Nico A. Casella and Oscar Castillio Zacconne, both of whom had been hired as new officers at the last Wood-Ridge Council meeting.
Mueller and Jones were then sworn in as Lieutenants.
Chief Michael O’Donnell addressed the officers after their oaths. He welcomed the new hires, and reminded them that serving the public as Wood-Ridge Police officers was an honor. He then complimented both Mueller and Jones on their promotions, noting that he had worked with them for over 20 years, and was proud of them for reaching their new ranks.
Mayor Sarlo also welcomed the new officers, and spoke of the commitments to the public they were making, and praised Mueller and Jones for their careers serving the community of Wood-Ridge.
Councilman Ezio Altamura, who serves as the Police Commissioner, echoed those sentiments, and praised them for their dedication and their service to the borough of Wood-Ridge.
