GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say a man was charged in connection to a bank robbery on Grand Rapids’ northeast side.

Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker confirmed that Jeffrey Alhan Dale, 62, was charged with one count of bank robbery Tuesday.

The bank robbery happened on Friday, Aug. 16, at the Lake Michigan Credit Union on Leonard Street NE near Plymouth Avenue NE, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department.

Police said a weapon was implied, though bank employees did not see a weapon. No one was injured. A person of interest was taken into custody Friday, according to GRPD.

According to Michigan Department of Corrections online records, in August 1995, Dale was sentenced to a minimum of 30 years in prison for an armed robbery. He was paroled on Jan. 25, 2023.
