Deputies arrest man accused of shooting at stepfather

DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Mecosta County deputies say they have arrested an 18-year-old man who is accused of shooting at his stepfather.

Allen David Kuhn was arrested around 1:40 p.m. Thursday at a home in Deerfield Township after a citizen sent in a tip, according to the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office.

Last week, deputies asked for the public’s help to find Kuhn, whom they described as “armed and dangerous.” They said Kuhn fired a handgun at his stepfather Aug. 14 and then fled the scene. By the time deputies arrived to the address on 137th Avenue, south of 1 Mile Road in Deerfield Township, Kuhn was gone. A warrant was issued for his arrest for assault with intent to murder, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies say as they investigated, they also arrested a 37-year-old woman and 29-year-old man on unrelated outstanding warrants.

Kuhn has not yet been arraigned, the sheriff’s office says.
