KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) — A pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle at a Kentwood intersection Thursday night, police confirmed.

It happened at the intersection of 48th Street and Eastern Avenue. It’s unclear exactly what led up to the crash but the Kentwood Police Department is investigating. Police said the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene. The victim is a female but police could not confirm her age.

Around 11:15 p.m., a News 8 crew at the scene saw a firetruck, Kentwood police cruisers and the Kent County Sheriff’s Department’s Crime Scene Unit at the scene. Caution tape blocked off the street.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Kentwood Police Department at 616.656.6580 or Silent Observer at 616.774.2345.
