Ms. Wheelchair America Competition in Grand Rapids this weekend

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A queen will be crowned in the Ms. Wheelchair America Competition this weekend in Grand Rapids.

This is the 53rd year of the Ms. Wheelchair America Competition. It focuses on advocacy and presentation. There are women from 22 states who will be competing for the crown this year.

Friday will be the final day of judging and workshops. On Saturday, the crowning gala will start at 7:15 p.m., when the top five will be announced and the winner will be revealed. Both days of events will be streamed on the Mary Free Bed Facebook page .

“We are so excited for this year’s event, and we have a great group of ladies competing,” Ms. Wheelchair America president Shelly Loose said in a news release. “We’re glad to be back in Grand Rapids again for these women to experience Grand Rapids, and even more thrilled for Grand Rapids to hear their stories.”
