    Man shot in stomach, hospitalized in Battle Creek

    BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — A man is in the hospital after he was shot late Sunday evening in Battle Creek.

    Around 11 p.m., officers with the Battle Creek Police Department were sent to the area of Corwin Street and Capital Avenue SW for a shooting.

    Responding officers found a 37-year-old Battle Creek man with an apparent gunshot wound to the abdomen.

    The police department said he was taken to the hospital. The extent of his injuries has not been released.

    Officers believe that this shooting stemmed from an argument between the 37-year-old man and a man he knows.

    The shooting remains under investigation.
