    MSP: Bicyclist killed in crash near Pentwater

    WEARE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say a bicyclist was killed in a crash near Pentwater Monday morning.

    Michigan State Police said around 8:30 a.m. Monday, it received a report of a crash involving an SUV and a bicyclist on northbound Oceana Drive near Hogan Road in Weare Township.

    The SUV was heading northbound on Oceana Drive when it struck a bicyclist traveling in the same direction, according to MSP.

    The bicyclist, a 72-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to state police. His name was not released.

    It’s unknown what led to the crash, which state police said remains under investigation.
